CME credits
All our courses receive three levels of continuing medical education credits, or are currently under review for renewal of these credits. Please refer to each individual course for its specific accreditations.
These credits, in Section 1/A and Section 3/B categories, and their equivalent for the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC), are awarded by the Continuing Professional Development Office of the Fédération des médecins spécialistes du Québec (FMSQ), in collaboration with the Association des spécialistes en médecine d’urgence du Québec (ASMUQ).
They are valid for both family physicians and medical specialists, as well as for other health professionals. Please note that participants are responsible for reporting these training hours themselves within their respective continuing professional development programs.
Section 1/A Credits
Each training day, whether delivered over a single day or over several sessions, is accredited for 7 hours of Section 1 or Category B continuing education credits. Current certificates are posted in the description of each course.
CPD certificates for these credits are issued once the participant has completed the course evaluation.
Section 2 Credits
Because ECGU training days require several hours of preparation, physicians may also claim Section 2 learning credits for each hour spent preparing for the course. No certificate is required for this declaration.
Section 3/B Credits
The three ECGU training days, as well as any custom program, including any of this content, are accredited for up to 5 hours of Section 3 credits through self-assessment activities, with the equivalent recognition for the CFPC.
These credits are awarded for completing each pretest or post-test, with feedback provided to participants after completion of the questionnaire, during the workshop, and upon receipt of the corrections and course references. Following the pretest, three post-tests will be sent approximately 3, 6, and 12 months after the course. Certificates for 1.25 credits are issued after each pretest and post-test.
For medical specialists, these Section 3 credits may be claimed in your Royal College MAINPORT account under an accredited self-assessment program. A total of up to 5 hours is allocated for this portion of each training activity, depending on the number of pre-tests and post-tests completed, at a rate of 1.25 hours per test.
For family physicians, these hours may also be counted and reported to the College of Family Physicians of Canada or to the Collège des médecins du Québec (CMQ).
